In The Garden Of Medea

A monologue written by John Stuart Anderson and Produced by Dimitris Danis

on the isle of LAZARETO on Ithaca Greece

Advantages lay elsehwere in my hands

Here where solitude becomes...

If I walk out and around the grave...

Is it any wonder why I am loved by everyone?

My hands then hold the trembling balance of the scales...

Trapped in amazement of this age and time.

What have I to do with any show of time?

Dimitris Danis would like to thank:

In The Garden of Medea was hailed a great

success.   Invited guests were asked back to Hotel Omirikon in Vathy for the after party celebrations.

In The Garden Of Medea

In August 2003 Dimitris Danis put on a special performance of the Monologue In The Garden of Medea, written by the late John Stuart Anderson, at Lazareto isle, situated inside the western port of Vathy, on the Ionian island of Ithaca.  It was the first time this small church islet, also known as The Saviour Isle, was  used for such an event.  In 1836 Lazareto was a colony for the deseased and later a prison, which it remained until 1912.

In The Garden Of Medea

"A work for a solo artist, based on Medea, the most fascinating character in Greek mythology.

The text is paramount in the hands of the Actor, which can be of  either sex, but who is able to create atmosphere and sustain dialogue.  The technical side of the production will then fall into place according to whatever is available.  Personally to me me, Medea, is always a woman of great beauty and never ending fascination." Dimitris Danis.
